These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website thefluencytrap.com (the "Website") and the digital and printed products published under the imprint Iluro Books by Jordi Clopés Esteban ("we", "us", "our").
By visiting the Website, subscribing to the mailing list, or purchasing any product, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

We are an independent publisher. Iluro Books is a trading name; the natural person behind it is Jordi Clopés Esteban.
2. Use of the Website
You may use the Website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
- Use any automated means (bots, scrapers, headless browsers) to collect information from the Website without our prior written consent, except for well-behaved search engine and AI crawlers obeying
robots.txt. - Attempt to bypass any security measure, rate limit, or access control.
- Use the Website to transmit malware, spam, or any unlawful content.
- Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of any content on the Website beyond what is permitted by copyright law and these Terms.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these Terms.
3. Email subscription and lead magnets
When you subscribe to our mailing list ("Waitlist"), you give us permission to send you:
- A welcome email containing the sample chapter and The SDD Toolkit 2026 — a curated tools and reading list (the "Lead Magnets").
- Occasional emails announcing the launch of The Fluency Trap and related products.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. Unsubscribing removes you from all future mailings and processes your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
The Lead Magnets are provided free of charge for personal use. You may share them in their original form, but you may not modify, repackage, or resell them.
4. Intellectual property
All content on the Website — text, images, the cover artwork, the book mockup, the PDFs, the source code that delivers the Website — is © 2026 Iluro Books / Jordi Clopés Esteban, except where another author or licence is explicitly credited.
You may:
- Quote brief excerpts (one paragraph or less) with attribution and a link back to the Website.
- Share the Lead Magnets in their original PDF form.
- Link to any page on the Website.
You may not, without prior written permission:
- Reproduce the book The Fluency Trap in whole or in part beyond the sample chapter we publish.
- Use the cover artwork, mockup, or brand assets for any purpose other than reviewing or recommending the book.
- Train any machine learning model on the book's full text, or on substantial extracts beyond the published sample chapter.
Permissions for automated text-and-data-mining of the Website's own content — including its use as AI training data — are granted or reserved in machine-readable form via the Website's robots.txt, in accordance with Article 4(3) of EU Directive 2019/790. The sample-chapter and lead-magnet PDFs remain excluded from text-and-data-mining there.
The book's published sample chapter and the SDD Toolkit are licensed for personal use only. All other rights are reserved.
5. Purchases
The Website itself does not currently process payments. Purchases of The Fluency Trap will be made through third-party retailers (e.g., Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, Apple Books, Kobo, Bookshop.org) under each retailer's own terms.
For refunds, returns, or delivery issues regarding a purchased copy, please contact the retailer where you purchased the book first. Each retailer has its own return policy:
- Amazon Kindle: ebooks can be returned within 7 days if accidentally purchased.
- Amazon paperback: physical returns accepted within 30 days.
- Apple Books / Kobo / others: see each retailer's policy.
If a retailer cannot resolve your issue and you believe we are at fault (e.g., a defective PDF you bought directly from us, if we ever sell directly), please contact us at [email protected].
6. Third-party services
The Website uses the following third-party services to operate:
- OVH (web hosting and email — France/EU)
- Cloudflare (CDN, security, DNS — global)
- MailerLite (email marketing — Lithuania/EU)
- GoatCounter (cookieless analytics — Ireland/EU)

7. Disclaimers
The content of The Fluency Trap and the Website is provided "as is" for informational and educational purposes only. It is not legal, regulatory, or professional advice.
Specifically, although the book references regulations such as the EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, nothing in the book or on the Website constitutes a legal interpretation of those regulations. You should consult qualified legal counsel for advice about your specific situation.
The methods described in the book (Spec-Driven Development, EARS patterns, adversarial review, named human sign-off) are presented as recommended engineering practices, not as guarantees of correctness, safety, or regulatory compliance.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, regarding the Website and its content, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Website, the Lead Magnets, or the book.
- Our total liability arising from these Terms or your use of the Website is limited to the amount you paid us directly in the preceding twelve months (which, for free users, is zero).
This clause does not exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (notably consumer protection law in your country of residence).
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The most recent version will always be at thefluencytrap.com/terms, with the "Effective date" at the top reflecting the latest update.
For material changes (changes to who we are, how we use your data, refund policy, governing law), we will additionally announce the change in the next regular email to subscribers.
Continuing to use the Website after a change to these Terms means you accept the updated version.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The competent courts of Mataró (Barcelona), Spain have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Website, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence grants you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform to attempt to resolve a dispute out of court.
